As a field manager, you want to provide your team with a pitch that meets their needs to achieve the best possible results. But more importantly, the pitch must be safe. Many injuries can be related to poor pitch surface conditions, and when you are in control, you can prevent this from happening. We will help you to meet the targeted pitch characteristics to assure a pitch that meets your team their needs.

In addition, having an objective view of your pitch its characteristics helps you to communicate with important stakeholders and/or the sports team. We help you to make decisions based on facts instead of gut feeling.

Our solutions will help you to realize a proactive way of working based on facts. By doing so, you will:

– Save costs and materials

– Achieve better results

When you are an experienced user of the HiPSter, you will be able to measure your pitch in around 60 minutes. This is based on measuring 7 locations which will give you a good impression of the state of the pitch.

Only the rotational resistance test will cause minor damage to your pitch. We designed this measurement tool to cause less damage than usual without compromising measurement accuracy.

All the other measurements will not cause any damage at all!

No, calibration of the measuring tools is already done before delivery. The performance of your HiPSter will be monitored remotely by our service engineers. As soon as its performance starts to deviate, we will get in action. In this way, we always provide you with reliable results.

The only thing you will have to do is to perform two tests on a flat concrete surface before measuring your pitch. These tests are:

– Ball rebound, to adjust the ball pressure to assure the correct rebound height.

– Impact test, to control the operation of this apparatus.

More information will be provided in the measurement instructions.

There’s no need to clean the HiPSter. If required, any grass clippings or other debris can be brushed off with a brush.

More information will be provided in the supplied manual.

You should store the HiPSter in a dry and sheltered space. Prevent the apparatus from being stored in extreme temperatures (both high and low) or very humid areas.

Access to a power outlet is also useful when the apparatus is low in battery.

More information can be found in the included HiPSter manual, our Hi Sports website, or by contacting our experts via the contact menu.

We have proved that there’s now difference between the measured results from a FIFA-accredited lab or the HiPSter. The only difference is that with the HiPSter, you can perform the measurements by yourself.

Meet the Expert

Joep van Cranenbroek is our specialist on Precision Turf Grass Management. With a degree in Applied Biology and Data Science, Joep specializes in agronomy and the and measuring of natural grass pitches.

Joep is a course leader and lecturer at HAS University for several Turf Grass related courses. The primary university for specialized natural turfgrass education in the Netherlands.

Education

The following courses are offered to you in collaboration with HAS University.
These trainings are currently offered in Dutch but can also be made available in other languages or can be adapted for in-company training.

Course - assistant head greenkeeper/field manager

Being an assistant head greenkeeper, you will support the head greenkeeper. You are involved in the construction of greens, tees and fairways and you are responsible for their drainage and irrigation. Therefore, it is important to stay up to date with the newest techniques. The Assistant Head Greenkeeper course teaches this to you. It has been developed in collaboration with the Dutch golf organizations NVG, NGF, NGA and IPC Groene Ruimte.

Course - head greenkeeper/field manager

Besides more specialisation regarding natural turf maintenance, you will learn the basic skills needed to draw up a management and maintenance/construction plan for golf courses or training grounds. Financial preconditions play a vital role in this: after all, being the supervisor, you bear responsibility. You learn to calculate costs, draw up hourly budgets and assess quotations. You gain more insight into what is going on with commercial jobs, association jobs, and with a contractor of outsourced work.

Course - Expert natural turfgrass

The grass doesn’t always have to be greener at the neighbours, but you need expert knowledge. You need fundamental knowledge about soil, water, and grass for good construction and effective maintenance of sports pitches or golf courses. The Expert Natural Grass training teaches you how to monitor quality and take the proper measures in the event of problems.

Course – Lighting of (sports) grasses

Maintaining a healthy natural grass pitch all year round is the challenge for every (professional) sports club. Light is essential for the growth and quality of grass, but it is only available in limited quantities for much of the year. How do you provide sufficient light? How do you distribute that light, what is suitable light and when can grass make optimal use of the light?
